Limited Capacity & 24-Hour Care

 

We intentionally accept only a small number of dogs at a time to provide personalized attention.

 

Our team operates 24/7, and every night a dedicated staff member sleeps alongside the dogs so they can feel safe, secure, and surrounded by human warmth.

 

Dogs rest more peacefully when they are with someone they trust. Quality sleep, proper exercise, and balanced nutrition tailored to each dog help significantly reduce stress during boarding.

Our approach begins before the actual boarding date.

 

We encourage you and your dog to visit our hotel in advance. By creating positive, enjoyable experiences ahead of time, your dog learns that Lucky Tail is a safe and happy place — somewhere they will feel comfortable returning to.

13–24 Hours (1 Night)

Includes:

• Four times 15-minute walks per day

• Feeding of owner-provided meals

 

Extended Stay Discounts (per night)

• 2–7 nights: $92

• 8–14 nights: $87

• 15–22 nights: $85

• 1 month+: $80

 

 

Payment Policy

 

 

• 50% non-refundable deposit due one week prior to check-in

• Remaining balance due on the day of check-in

• Hiking adventures

• Dog farm trips

• Training sessions

 

Stays of 7 nights or longer include:

• Complimentary bath and blow-dry

Health & Vaccination Requirements

Flea & Tick Prevention, Deworming & Vaccinations

At Lucky Tail, the health and safety of every dog in our care is our highest priority.

We recommend regular deworming to help prevent parasites that may spread between dogs. To maintain a safe and healthy environment, all dogs entering our facility must be in good health and must not pose any risk to other dogs. Please follow your veterinarian’s guidelines to ensure your dog’s deworming schedule remains current and valid.

All dogs must also be on a veterinarian-approved flea and tick prevention program year-round, either topical or oral. It is the owner’s responsibility to ensure that this protection is consistently maintained.

To help prevent parasites from entering the facility, all dogs must visit Lucky Tail for a flea and tick check within one week prior to their reservation or boarding stay.

Please note that if fleas, ticks, or other parasites are discovered during this check or on the day of arrival, the reservation may be cancelled or postponed to protect the health of other dogs in our care.

If any signs of fleas, ticks, or parasites are found during your dog’s consultation or trial day, you will be contacted immediately for pickup. A temporary pause in daycare services—typically 1 to 2 months—may be required until the issue is fully resolved.

Please note that Lucky Tail does not provide flea or lice baths, or tick removal services.

Required Vaccinations

We require current veterinary documentation for the following vaccinations:

• Rabies
• Distemper / Parvo (DHPP)
• Bordetella (Kennel Cough)
• Leptospirosis

Puppies under 1 year old must have completed their third set of puppy vaccinations, and must also be on flea and tick prevention and deworming in order to attend daycare.

Proof of vaccination must be submitted prior to your dog’s consultation or trial day and must remain up to date in order to continue attending daycare.

We will send a reminder 14 business days before any vaccine becomes overdue.

Valid titre tests may be accepted in place of standard vaccinations.

If your dog is unable to meet these requirements for medical reasons, please contact us directly so we can discuss possible accommodations.

These policies help ensure a safe, healthy, and happy environment for every member of the Lucky Tail Pack.

Spay & Neuter Policy

At Lucky Tail, we aim to maintain a safe, balanced, and enriching environment for all dogs in our care.

Dogs Over 1 Year of Age

All dogs over 1 year old must be spayed or neutered in order to participate in daycare. This policy helps prevent hormonally driven behaviors such as mounting, marking, and reactivity, contributing to a calmer and more harmonious group environment.

Sick Policy

If your dog shows any signs of illness—including but not limited to coughing, sneezing, vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, or unusual behavior—we require that they remain at home until they are:

• Symptom-free for at least 72 hours, or
• Cleared by a veterinarian

To support our clients, no cancellation fees will be applied if your dog must stay home due to illness.

Please note that this policy is strictly enforced with no exceptions. If a dog arrives showing signs of illness, we will contact you or your emergency contact immediately for pickup.
